Drink in the colour!

Sunset Photography season is most definitely here!

The colours at sunset have been stunning. For a change, I drove out to Westpoint to see the what amazing tones were to be seen from a different area.

The drive out there was half the fun, but the big reward was definitely the long lasting colours that evening.

sunset-silhouette-photographyAs well as enjoying the incredible colour, and the painting-like long exposure images I love to shoot, I was able to enjoy a few other subjects to feature in the foreground.

I love my sunset photography to be largely about the stunning colour. However, a new or interesting foreground subject can make for something different. A group of keen fishermen and women were out at the shoreline, making for some wonderful silhouette subjects. They contrasted nicely against the vivid colours of the sunset.

Aside from needing a bit of bug spray, I can’t think of a better way to spend a few hours in the evening.

This time of year, we can expect plenty of wonderful reds, oranges and purples most nights, so if you’re keen to learn more about capturing the colours, please let me know.

A small tripod and a remote release are handy but not essential.

I look forward to shooting some amazing images with you soon.

Happy snapping..!

Kobie.
