Crystal Ball Creativity

This week it was time to get out my LensBall for some Crystal Ball Creativity!

I love all kinds of photography, but don’t often use optical props.  However, seeing the world refracted in the palm of your hand is quite magical.

The LensBall really opens up another realm of possibilities, making the almost-everyday into something new and magical.

The sunsets up on Lizard Island are often amazing but shooting them though the LensBall certainly makes for a new and fun image.

Being optically clear, the crystal ball allows for perfectly sharp images, only limited by your creativity.

I have taken some shots with my iPhone, but I have found longer lenses work very well. Macro lenses in particular work really well with the LensBall, allowing close focus on the image inside the ball.

It can also make for a fun and unusual portrait shot, as previously shown when I shot Llewy and Gabi down at Horseshoe Bay.

As well as shooting some new marketing images with it on Lizard, I was also teaching classes for some of the staff who were keen to try it out.

It’s a lot of fun, even if a bit heavy, and obviously… Don’t drop it!
