Compact cameras are capable!
It’s not what you’ve got, but how you use it.
For a change, I took 2 of my compact cameras into the water. Underwater photography has been fantastic this past week!
I had divemaster candidate Eddie with me on the dive, and he was eager to test to the small Olympus camera I have. He spotted this Chromodoris Rufomaculata nudibranch and got a great shot of him/her as he/she was shuffling along.
Whilst I love my big Nikon rig, the ease of diving with the small set-ups was rather enjoyable. And the images show that camera size doesn’t always matter! Eddie took to the Olympus like the proverbial fish to water, and shot a number of great images with it.
Unfortunately, the wind picked up the last week, so visibility conditions were not ideal, so I have been shooting on land.
However, next week, I will be in the water a bit more again, as the conditions are looking to be improving. I’ll be out on a few flouro night dives too. If this is something you’d be keen to try, please contact me.
I look forward to some great dives and maybe also shooting some amazing images with you soon.
Happy snapping..!
Kobie.
