Entering the Underwater Realm!
Underwater photography is a challenging but awesome genre. I am enjoying being back in my wetsuit and taking students into the bays to shoot. The amazing underwater life that there is there never ceases to amaze.
I know not everyone has a housing for their camera, so I put together a number of UW rigs for students to hire if they wish to, ranging from small and basic point & shoot cameras, up to a large DSLR with twin strobes and video lights.
The past week has been great fun. A number of the newly qualified SSI Instructors and Divemaster candidates at Pleasure Divers joined me for some underwater photography training. This was both in the pool and out in the bays. The guys and girls have been learning the pros and cons of the different rigs. They are also beginning to master the basics of exposure, focusing, strobe-use and composition.
